1920’s inspired hairstyle with a modern twist

This was an on the fly hairstyle I did on my good friend Katie for an 1920’s themed event at our school. It’s a super easy look that I thought turned out really cute and could be worn for a night out on the town, a themed party or even just adding some flair to your everyday look.

How to start:

Pick out a super cute headband and place on your already parted hair.

Next take 1-2 inch sections on each front side and twist them around headband all the way to the back you can add more or less sections depending on how full you want the twist to look.

Next I gathered all the hair to the side and did a modified french braid with the hair under the headband gathering it into a ponytail.

To finish off the look I wrapped around about a 1/2 inch section of hair around the ponytail and secured it with a bobby pin to give it a sleeker look.

Note: This was done on Katie’s natural wavy hair, I did no prior styling to her hair before I began. Also this look took no time at all!

So if you want to spice up your hairstyles I highly suggest trying out this fun look!

Here’s the finished look, enjoy :)!
